A genotyping platform and MLVA kits for Legionella pneumophila
The CEERAM R&D Department has developed a method and genotyping kits for genotyping Legionella pneumophila by MLVA. Like other techniques used with forensic medicine to determine human genetic footprints, this analytical method is based on a concomitant study of several VNTRs polymorphisms, sequences in tandem-repeat, characterized by variable-number intra-species.

Why type isolates of Legionella ?
During an epidemological study :
Identify contamination origin
Follow-up incriminated pathogens
During an epidemological follow-up :
Warn about the emergence of certain strains
Prove the existence of virulent clones
Evaluate the effect of disinfections on the populations of Legionella (identify the resistant strains or strains colonizing rapidly after treatment)
Why choose CEERAM's expertise And typing kits?
Typing of 100 strains guaranteed within 72 hours
Validated on clinical and environmental strains
Reproducible results
High discrimination power
Exchangeable and storable MLVA numeric code
Database creation
Pending patent
The genotyping platform and typing kits available from CEERAM will allow you to systematicfally type all your collected Legionella pneumophila isolates so that decisions can be made quickly in case of an epidemic or so that certain preventative measures are undertaken as a part of network monitoring or installations of hot water.
