The Life of a Work-at-home Mom

Oh, I so missed blogging! :)

It's been 8 months since I last blogged and now that I am back, I am excited to share with you how I have been and what kept me busy all this time.

After 8 months of looking for more online opportunities, I can now truly say that I am officially a work-at-home mom.  Aside from being a full-time-mom to my two beautiful sons and a full-time-wife/sex-slave to my awesome hubby (hehe), I also accept online jobs via oDesk and I also manage my own online shop which I named "Happinay".  If you're wondering what Happinay means, here's how I coined it:

Happi - Happy with an "I" (just so it would connect well with the next word)
Pinay - a demonym for a Female Filipino
Nay - Short for Nanay, which, in Filipino, means "Mother"

Happinay was originally a blog I created in Filipino which I updated almost daily while I took a leave from Blogloid.  It's easier to post blogs in your own language, hence, updating it daily was just a breeze.  Until I realized the site will have more benefits if it could earn more other than what it generates from ads.  So I converted it to an online shop and have decided to use Blogloid again to blog about personal stuff.

After about a year studying the online selling business, I initiated a soft launch for Happinay last March for a test and was only able to officially launch it last July.  Like any other undertaking, how to start it is always the hardest to do.  I had to contact a lot of suppliers and compared their prices so I could get the lowest and the best deals there is.  I didn't know yet how to market it, hence, I started selling items to my friends and former officemates.  I was lucky to have found the best and the cheapest products that I was able to sell even to strangers in less than a month's online presence!  My first sale brought me so much joy I couldn't describe!  Every sale is a bliss, but the next few sales were more of a confirmation that I am now a certified online seller!   I never thought I could sell anything in the first place.  I was never into sales or marketing.  Now I have inquiries here and there, and more people are buying my products even if my shop is new and hasn't earned much reputation compared to other online shops out there.  I guess it's because my products are very affordable and probably the cheapest you'll find in the market, especially the branded baby shoes and the angry birds bedroom slippers which are my best sellers.

I am really thankful to all those who bought from my shop and most especially to my very supportive husband and kids.  Hubby has been helping me with the funds and in marketing as well, while my kids are helping me endorse my products.  What more could I ask for?

Nada.  In fact, I thought of a way of sharing the blessings to others by initiating a SHOP FOR A CAUSE PROGRAM which I plan to launch come September.  It's my birth month and my two kids' as well, so I plan to give freebies to my loyal clients and to the new ones, too, as a way of thanking them for their support.  I am seeing myself becoming busier in the next few weeks, so, pardon if I don't get to blog so often til then.  I will try to respond to comments and inquiries still, so feel free to post anything, dear readers.  And now, I have to get back to business.  See ya around! :)
