The Life of a Work-at-home Mom

Oh, I so missed blogging! :)

It's been 8 months since I last blogged and now that I am back, I am excited to share with you how I have been and what kept me busy all this time.

After 8 months of looking for more online opportunities, I can now truly say that I am officially a work-at-home mom.  Aside from being a full-time-mom to my two beautiful sons and a full-time-wife/sex-slave to my awesome hubby (hehe), I also accept online jobs via oDesk and I also manage my own online shop which I named "Happinay".  If you're wondering what Happinay means, here's how I coined it:

Happi - Happy with an "I" (just so it would connect well with the next word)
Pinay - a demonym for a Female Filipino
Nay - Short for Nanay, which, in Filipino, means "Mother"

Happinay was originally a blog I created in Filipino which I updated almost daily while I took a leave from Blogloid.  It's easier to post blogs in your own language, hence, updating it daily was just a breeze.  Until I realized the site will have more benefits if it could earn more other than what it generates from ads.  So I converted it to an online shop and have decided to use Blogloid again to blog about personal stuff.

After about a year studying the online selling business, I initiated a soft launch for Happinay last March for a test and was only able to officially launch it last July.  Like any other undertaking, how to start it is always the hardest to do.  I had to contact a lot of suppliers and compared their prices so I could get the lowest and the best deals there is.  I didn't know yet how to market it, hence, I started selling items to my friends and former officemates.  I was lucky to have found the best and the cheapest products that I was able to sell even to strangers in less than a month's online presence!  My first sale brought me so much joy I couldn't describe!  Every sale is a bliss, but the next few sales were more of a confirmation that I am now a certified online seller!   I never thought I could sell anything in the first place.  I was never into sales or marketing.  Now I have inquiries here and there, and more people are buying my products even if my shop is new and hasn't earned much reputation compared to other online shops out there.  I guess it's because my products are very affordable and probably the cheapest you'll find in the market, especially the branded baby shoes and the angry birds bedroom slippers which are my best sellers.

I am really thankful to all those who bought from my shop and most especially to my very supportive husband and kids.  Hubby has been helping me with the funds and in marketing as well, while my kids are helping me endorse my products.  What more could I ask for?

Nada.  In fact, I thought of a way of sharing the blessings to others by initiating a SHOP FOR A CAUSE PROGRAM which I plan to launch come September.  It's my birth month and my two kids' as well, so I plan to give freebies to my loyal clients and to the new ones, too, as a way of thanking them for their support.  I am seeing myself becoming busier in the next few weeks, so, pardon if I don't get to blog so often til then.  I will try to respond to comments and inquiries still, so feel free to post anything, dear readers.  And now, I have to get back to business.  See ya around! :)

Grounds for Annulment of Marriage in the Philippines

It's funny that after posting the requirements for Civil Marriage in the Philippines, people are asking about the grounds for annulment of marriage in the Philippines.  Hehe.  Nevertheless, I am posting the details here for the benefit of my dear readers:

1. Absence of Parental Consent. A marriage was solemnized and one or the other party was eighteen (18) years of age or over but below twenty-one (21) and consent was not given by the parents, guardian or person having substitute parental authority. The Petition of Annulment must be filed within five (5) years of having attained the age twenty-one. However, if the parties freely cohabited with the other as husband and wife after having reached the age of twenty-one (21) a Petition of Annulment can no longer be filed.

2. Mental Illness. One or the either party was of unsound mind at the moment of the marriage. But if the parties freely cohabited with each other after he or she came to reason the law prohibits the filing of a Petition.

3. Fraud. That the consent of either party was obtained by fraud, unless such party once having knowledge of the fraud freely cohabited with the other as husband and wife. The petition must be filed within five (5) of finding out the facts of the fraud.

4. That the consent of either party was obtained by force, intimidation or undue influence. Except when the same has ceased and the party filing the petition freely cohabited with the other as husband and wife. The injured party must file within five (5) years from the point in time the force, intimidation or undue influence disappeared or came to an end.

5. One or the other party was physically incapable of consummating the marriage, and such incapacity continues and appears to be incurable. The filing of the Petition of Annulment must be filed within five (5) years after the marriage.

6. Either party was at the time of marriage afflicted with a sexually-transmitted-disease (STD) found to be serious and seems to be incurable. This may also constitute fraud. The filing of the Petition of Annulment must be filed within five (5) years after the marriage.

Please also note of the following which are NOT grounds for annulment:

SEPARATION: being separated from your spouse with or without communication is not grounds for annulment. It does not matter how many years you are separated. There is no law that annuls or voids a marriage automatically. Only a judge in a court of law can annul, void or nullify a marriage.

INFIDELITY: is not grounds for annulment.

Hope the above answers your questions.  But for all it's worth, I hope none of my readers is seriously considering an annulment, as it is not only costly, it is also a painful and tedious process.  However, if nothing else seems to work between you and your spouse, personally, I don't think living together for the sake of the kids or just to save your reputation is healthy for anyone of you.  As individuals, you need to grow and have the right to be happy.  Living with someone you no longer love or is hurting you would be worse than hell.  So, let go, live and let live.  :)

    Stage Nanay ka ba?

Sabi ni Urban Dictionary, ang Stage Mom daw ay:

"Pushy, obnoxious, crazy mothers who force their kids to act, model, or enter beauty contests. Usually turning them into emotionally scared adults who hate their parents."

    Sino si Ser?

Madami ang nagtatanong kung sino daw ba itong si Ser a.k.a. Hun na madalas kong banggitin sa mga posts ko.  Well, handa na ba kayong malaman?

    Yan si Ser.
    Ang kagalang-galang kong asawa
na hindi ko ipagpapalit sa kahit anumang yaman o karangyaan sa mundo.
    Bihira kaya ang ganyang mukha.
    Endangered species, ika nga.
Lalo pa ngayon uso ang takutan tungkol sa end of the world,
dapat lang alagaan ang mga katulad nyang nilalang.
    Ako na ang mag-uumpisa.
At sisimulan ko ito kay Ser.
    Labyu, Ser. ;D
